Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Steelbook Bundle Is Up for Preorder

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Steelbook Bundle has quietly gone up for preorder in the UK, weeks after the publisher initially claimed it was “now available” to purchase back on April 10.

It is a delayed rollout, but it’s better late than never for MGS fans.

Konami recently confirmed to IGN that the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Steelbook will be a preorder bonus only, not sold separately, and available only in “select regions” of Europe, and seemingly not the US.

The unique Steelbook, now bundled with the game, will ship on August 27, 2026, and features “timeless artwork of Old Snake and Big Boss”.

Yet, the Steelbook Bundle is also only showing up for PS5 at £44.99 via Amazon right now, despite Konami previously stating that Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions, including Switch 2, would also be part of the wider release.

There is no sign of those editions just yet, which likely suggests a staggered or delayed listing schedule at Amazon.

So far, other confirmed retailers across Europe, MicroMania in France, Media Markt in Germany, Game Spain in Spain, and Game Life in Italy.

It is a slightly messy rollout so far, but if you were planning to pick up the Steelbook edition, it is at least live now, and given how limited these bundles tend to be, it may not stick around for long.

The re-release will include Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and was initially announced during a Sony State of Play livestream in February this year.

As described in a PlayStation.Blog post, Konami has also said the new version of MGS4, that’s finally breaking free of its PS3 shackles, features improved internal resolution, a maximum framerate increase, and customizable controls.

It’s unclear if Peace Walker will also benefit from visual adjustments, but it will at least come with custom controls. For more, you can read about what Konami is doing to make sure it doesn’t suffer the same launch problems as Vol. 1.
