Street sweeping returns to town in two weeks, borough officials say
SHENANDOAH – New signs are up, the new street sweeper will be here next week and, beginning May 4, street sweeping returns to Shenandoah for the first time in a few years.
The update came at Monday’s borough council meeting.
Public Works Supervisor Brian Oliver said the street sweeper is expected in town on Thursday and streets crew employees will be trained on operating the machine.
Sweeping will begin on May 4 and follow the usual routes which can be found at the bottom of this article.
Hundreds of new signs have been ordered and installed along the routes. Police officers will be out issuing tickets, as well.
For the past few years, street sweeping in town has been haphazard as the street sweeper was often down for repairs.
