DA identifies Holyoke shooting victim
HOLYOKE — The man shot and killed on Sargeant Street Saturday night has been identified as 31-year-old Robert Abreu, of Holyoke, Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni announced in a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon.
Holyoke Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 139 Sargeant St. at approximately 5:39 p.m. Saturday; there, they found Abreu suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers began administering life-saving measures before Abreu was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting remains an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Hampden District Attorney’s State Police Detective Unit and Murder Unit and Holyoke Police Department.
