LTN introduced a slate of upgrades to its global IP video network aimed at broadcasters moving off satellite, citing rising pressure on C-Band capacity ahead of federal spectrum auctions expected by July 2027.

The enhancements focus on reliability, operational visibility, reach and orchestration at scale. They include Adaptive Multicarrier Rapid Error Recovery, hitless switching and last-mile improvements; historical performance views, enhanced source monitoring and expanded API integrations; expanded access options with a high-capacity gateway for up to 500 channels and a small-footprint gateway for affiliates; and centralized portal-based control with more dynamic content routing and advanced distribution group management. LTN also is integrating network access into encoders and IRDs from MediaKind, Harmonic, Appear and Ateme.

Federal policy sets the stage for as much as 180 MHz of Upper C-Band to be reallocated for 5G via competitive bidding no later than July 2027, following the FCC’s November 2025 NPRM and the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’ signed July 4, 2025. Broadcasters are expanding IP footprints and channel complexity as they prepare for reduced satellite capacity.

“We are investing in resilience, visibility, scale and cost control,” said Malik Khan, LTN co-founder and executive chairman. “As the C-band spectrum auction approaches, broadcasters are looking for certainty and measurable performance.”

LTN says it has completed satellite-to-IP migrations for Tennis Channel, TelevisaUnivision, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, MSG and MovieSphereGold. The company reports a 200% increase in its IP distribution footprint in 2025 and more than 80 million hours of live video delivered annually, including nearly 5 million hours of live news and over 1 million live sporting events.

LTN will showcase the updates at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, in Booth W2100.
