Wind Advisory In Fort Wayne For Thursday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — A First Alert Weather Day remains in effect across northeast Indiana, though the primary threat has shifted from tornadoes to damaging winds through Thursday evening, according to our partners in news at 21ALIVE.

A Wind Advisory is in place for much of northern Indiana until 8 p.m., with wind gusts expected to reach up to 45 miles per hour. These strong winds could bring down tree limbs, cause isolated power outages, and make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles.

The window for severe weather is expected between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. While the tornado threat has decreased significantly compared to earlier forecasts, forecasters say an isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out.

Flooding is also a growing concern across the region. Some areas have already received between 4 and 5 inches of rain over the past 48 hours, leaving the ground saturated and increasing the risk for standing water and localized flooding.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware, secure outdoor items, and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
