Telestream UP.Lens Closes Observability Gap In Live & Remote Production Workflows

Telestream, a provider of media workflow orchestration and quality monitoring, introduced UP.Lens today, a cloud-based multiviewer and monitoring service providing real-time visibility into contribution feeds across distributed production environments.

UP.Lens is part of Telestream UP, a cloud-native platform that supports global ingest, orchestration, review and real-time monitoring. Attendees of NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, can see the service at the Telestream booth (W1503).

The service introduces an “Eyes-on-Glass” multiviewer for real-time visual confidence alongside a troubleshooting “time-machine” that allows operators to rewind and analyze issues as they occur. These capabilities allow engineering and production teams to monitor, diagnose and resolve issues such as packet loss, jitter, black and frozen frames or audio silence before they impact live production.

“UP.Lens was designed to close the observability gap that has emerged as live production workflows move into the cloud,” Matthew Driscoll, Telestream VP of product management, said. “Operators still need the same ‘eyes-on-glass’ confidence they’ve always relied on — but in distributed environments, that visibility is often lost. UP.Lens is a cloud-native solution that automatically deploys those critical monitoring services, keeping pace with today’s workflow operations.”

While IP-based protocols such as SRT make it possible to transport high-quality video over long distances, they also introduce complexities in monitoring signal health across distributed infrastructure. UP.Lens addresses this by extending monitoring directly to the contribution edge, combining traditional multiview monitoring with analytics that detect anomalies.

Operators can use the service to monitor video confidence feeds, analyze performance metrics and receive automated alerts for network issues, content quality, ad signaling and captioning conditions. A built-in stream rewind capability helps accelerate troubleshooting by identifying exactly when a signal began to degrade.

Within the UP platform, UP.Lens complements UP.Capture, which provides elastic cloud-based ingest for SRT contribution feeds. Together, they create an ingest-to-monitoring pipeline for production teams.
