Salesforce unveils major AI-led enhancements to Slack

Salesforce has introduced over 30 new features that improve Slackbot from a personal assistant to a top-performing team member. Together, they not only expand Slackbot’s capabilities, but also transform Slack for every Agentic Enterprise. All new features focus on increasing impact for individuals and teams.

New Features:

  • Slackbot’s new meeting transcription and note-taking features make it a personal assistant with full business context. Unlike other meeting tools, Slackbot can interact with the company’s systems immediately after a call finishes. It stays across desktops as individuals work, understands their activities, and can take action within the enterprise apps. Salesforce confirms this is always undertaken following the permissions and governance set up in Slack.
  • New reusable AI-skills lets any team define a task once. This includes the inputs, the steps, the exact output – and run it anytime, automatically. Slackbot recognises when a prompt matches a skill and applies it without being asked.
  • As a new Model Context Protocol (MCP) client, Slackbot can now route work or prompt questions to Agentforce or any agent or app in your enterprise. Employees never need to know which system handles which task. They can just ask, and Slackbot finds the right path and gets it done.
  • Small businesses now have native customer management built into Slackbot. The solution reads channels, understands what happened, and keeps deals, contacts, and call notes up to date automatically. The company suggests starting simple inside Slack, scale up to Salesforce when ready. No migrations. No starting over.
  • For enterprise teams on Salesforce, Slackbot is now the conversational interface for the full Customer 360. It updates opportunities, research accounts, route cases, and trigger workflows through conversation, without opening a single Salesforce application.
  • New skills – including deep research and voice input – extend what Slackbot can do across every role and every team. Shareable prompts let anyone save and share their best instructions with teammates. Salesforce says using memory, Slackbot now learns how individuals work. This includes their preferences, workflows, shortcuts – getting sharper every time a person use it.

Slack ‘A follow-through engine’

According to Salesforce, tens of millions of people already run the Slack desktop app. This means Slackbot’s meeting transcription and personal note taking requires nothing new to install or configure. However, Slackbot can listen in the background during a meeting. Capturing discussions, summarising decisions, surfacing action items – and delivering a structured summary in Slack the moment the meeting ends.

Furthermore, Slackbot is natively connected to Salesforce and does not stop at notes. Actions can be logged, and opportunities updated, with the next steps documented in the CRM. The meeting ends, and the follow-through is already done – without anyone typing a single thing. Salesforce suggests that every meeting becomes more valuable. Every employee gets the time back they weren’t getting before. Salesforce says it’s not just a transcription tool – it’s a follow-through engine that knows your business.

Enterprise Times: What this means for businesses

The latest enhancements to Slackbot mark a major practical leap forward for businesses of all sizes across sectors and geographies. All internal project teams have recurring tasks that require the same inputs, the same format, and the same quality – every time. Project kick-off meetings, status meetings, campaign briefs, pipeline summaries, and incident reports, to name a few. The challenge isn’t knowing how to do the work. It’s doing it consistently, without rebuilding the same context from scratch every time.

By seamlessly integrating advanced AI capabilities, meeting intelligence, and native CRM tools directly within Slack, enterprises can now streamline workflows, reduce administrative overhead, and foster more effective collaboration across teams. These features are expected to enable employees to focus on meaningful customer interactions and strategic tasks. Rather than battling software or context switching. With Slackbot acting as both a proactive teammate and a bridge between enterprise systems, businesses gain a unified platform. A solution that adapts to their needs, drives consistency, and delivers measurable impact. This should make everyday work smarter, faster, and more connected.

Last year Slack commissioned an interesting survey which found a significant increase in AI adoption and excitement among employees around the globe. Slack’s research showed that trust and confidence in AI grows with use. Employees who use AI agents daily are twice as likely to trust them. With employees all-in on AI. Managers are using the technology to communicate more clearly and approach every customer interaction with greater confidence. With these new features to Slack, Salesforce is now practicing what it predicted.
