Panasonic Connect Europe gets new MD
Ikeda assumes the role from Shusuke (Shawn) Aoki, whose LinkedIn profile lists him as Chief Executive Officer @ Panasonic Europe. Aoki is transitioning to the Managing Director role of the Mobile Solutions Business Division at Panasonic Connect, effective 1 April 2026. In his new role, Aoki will oversee the continued growth and success of Panasonic as an industry leader in delivering state-of-the-art rugged devices and end-to-end mobility solutions.
Ikeda was previously the Managing Director of Panasonic Connect Asia for the last three years. Based in Singapore, he led the company’s regional growth. In 2024, he oversaw a 1.5x increase in sales in the region.
During his tenure at Panasonic Connect Asia, he focused on public sector business. While advancing a more solution-driven approach and strengthening engagement with customers and partners. Importantly, this laid a foundation for future growth. Panasonic Connect Asia is now a mature, comprehensive organisation offering consulting, systems integration, application development, and installation services.
Ikeda joined Panasonic in 1999 after graduating from Kyushu University. He has a strong track record of driving operational excellence, cross-regional collaboration, and customer-centric innovation. He spent 13 years at Panasonic North America, where he rose to VP Corporate Planning, holding that post for 6 years. In that role, he successfully drove new business development, portfolio management, and corporate strategy.
Ikeda commented: “I am honoured to take on this role. Building on the strong foundation established under Mr. Aoki’s leadership, I look forward to further strengthening Panasonic Connect Europe and guiding it into its next phase of growth.
“As a key pillar of the Group’s global strategy, Panasonic Connect Europe is well positioned to drive value in this period of transformation. Together with our teams, partners, and customers, we will continue to create value and achieve sustainable growth.”
Ikeda is one to watch. Success in Europe will have seen him develop three regions. It will surely put him in line for an even more senior role within Panasonic Connect or the wider Panasonic Group. For Europe, this is a leader who is likely to drive the company to new heights by expanding the portfolio of services it already offers.
What will be interesting to see is how he develops the market strategy. Specifically whether he sees different opportunities in the European market. Or whether he will follow the same strategy that delivered success in Asia.
