The platform, which is integrated with the VideoIPath media orchestration platform, will be demonstrated at Sony’s Booth C8401 during the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22.
Moxela includes media functions that can be combined for high-quality, low-latency applications in broadcast facilities, contribution networks and cloud production. It supports SMPTE ST 2110 and NDI, as well as the Media Exchange Layer (MXL) — a standard for real-time, in-memory exchange of uncompressed media between software applications backed by the Linux Foundation, EBU and NABA.
The platform’s integration with VideoIPath offers a unified way to control, orchestrate, virtualize and monitor media applications and other equipment on-premises or in the cloud. This simplifies the end-to-end management of live production workflows, improving speed and efficiency while lowering deployment risks.
“The new Moxela software platform is the logical evolution of our offering, and its timing aligns strategically with the development of common frameworks for the broadcast industry,” Jan Helgesen, Nevion head of product and solution, said. “Over the coming months, we will be delivering exceptional functionality for a variety of media applications.”
Moxela features a cloud-native architecture and supports containerized deployment across various compute platforms. This allows media organizations to design workflows that avoid vendor lock-in while meeting operational needs.
At the NAB Show, Sony and Nevion will also demonstrate software-defined operations involving Moxela and the M2L-X software switcher.
