Imagine Communications, a provider of video network and advertising technology solutions, is integrating AI-assisted scheduling into its Landmark Rights & Scheduling platform, a move designed to automate repeatable tasks and allow media organizations to operate more efficiently.

The new functionality, which will be demonstrated at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, in Booth N1328, applies machine learning to non-prime workflows — such as overnight and off-peak scheduling. This reduces manual effort while keeping human operators in control of strategic and editorial decisions.

“This development is about helping our customers work smarter, not replacing the expertise they rely on every day,” Vicki Knox, Imagine Communications director of commercial product management, said. “We’re using AI as an assistant — learning from how planners already work, respecting existing business rules and eliminating time-consuming busy work so teams can focus on decisions that drive performance.”

The Landmark Rights & Scheduling platform manages rights for live, streaming and on-demand content. It enables media companies to create frame-accurate playlists that combine program content and advertisements to reach target audiences and maximize profits.

Imagine’s new AI capabilities are embedded within the customer’s existing environment to ensure data security and protect intellectual property.

“Media companies trust us to respect their data and their operations, and that trust is fundamental to our development strategy,” Dan Walsh, Imagine Communications SVP of product management, said. “Imagine is focused on purpose-led innovation — the kind that solves real problems, improves real workflows and gives customers confidence that they’re building on solid ground.”

The AI-assisted capabilities are currently available and have been shown to several global media organizations. Early results indicate efficiency gains and improved consistency, allowing staff to reallocate time toward primetime strategy and long-term planning.
