Commission on Aging hosts Senior Easter Egg Hunt with local law enforcement

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Commission on Aging held its annual Senior Easter Egg Hunt at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center on March 26, welcoming area seniors, along with law enforcement officers from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and Cullman Police Department.

Commission on Aging Director Stephanie Lawson said these kinds of events are something they look forward to all year long, and the Easter Egg Hunt is truly one of the best.

“Not only does it bring together citizens from all across Cullman County, but it also serves as a meaningful reminder of the true reason for the Easter season,” Lawson said. “The continued collaboration between the Commission on Aging and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is a true blessing and a shining example of what sets Cullman County apart. We are proud to be part of a community that values connection, tradition and service to one another.”

Sheriff Matt Gentry said the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office was honored to be part of a very special Easter Egg Hunt.

“Alongside the Cullman Police Department, county commissioners, elected officials and members of the sheriff’s office, we joined the Cullman County Commission on Aging for their annual egg hunt at the Cullman County Ag Center,” Gentry said. “Events like these — bringing families, neighbors and public servants together — are what make Cullman County such a special place to call home. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with our community and be a part of moments like this. Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a great success.”

Cullman Police Chief Joey Duncan said it is always enjoyable and fulfilling to take part in community events, especially for local seniors.

“We truly enjoy time with our partners at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and the officials at the Commission on Aging,” Duncan said. “The Senior Easter Egg Hunt at the Ag Center is a great event each year. A huge thanks to Director Stephanie Lawson and her team for putting on a wonderful event.”
