IP Showcase’ Returns To 2026 NAB Show

The IP Showcase will return to the NAB Show in Las Vegas, highlighting the transition of the IPMX standard from specification to deployment.

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and the Video Services Forum (VSF) say that the event, running April 18-22 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, will focus on how open IP standards bridge real-time production with cloud-native and distributed workflows — with the recently finalized and certified IPMX standard taking center stage.

AIMS will feature demonstrations of certified IPMX products in Booth W1355, while also presenting hands-on training sessions in Room W317.

“With IPMX finalized and an operational certification program in place, NAB 2026 marks the shift from roadmap discussions to real-world deployment,” Andrew Starks, AIMS board member and Macnica product management director, said. “We’re no longer talking about what the standard could enable — we’re demonstrating a growing, deployable ecosystem that manufacturers and end users can build around today.”

Starks noted that IPMX’s ability to bridge accessible AV-over-IP systems and fully deterministic SMPTE ST 2110-class environments allows for deployments that start simple and scale as performance requirements grow, while aligning with cloud and microservices-based architectures.

A core component of the IP Showcase will be the Tech Chat Theater in the West Hall, which will host 12 presentations. Topics include overviews of SMPTE ST 2110, IPMX, AES67, AMWA NMOS and VSF TR-1001. Other sessions will cover quality control, post-deployment maintenance, security across WANs, remote production and dynamic media facilities (DMF).

The 2026 show also marks the debut of the IPMX Training Series. Developed by AIMS, the program features a three-level curriculum covering foundations, systems design and advanced networking concepts like PTP and SMPTE ST 2110.
