The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Scores a Rare $20 Discount in Spring Sales

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale kicks off today and runs through March 31, with deals on just about anything you could need. While there are a handful of discounted video games in the mix, surprisingly, most of the best video game deals can be found elsewhere this week.

If you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then your patience has been rewarded. Nintendo first-party games rarely go on sale as it is, but you can currently pick it up at Walmart for $49.99, for a savings of $20 off the original price.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Drops to $49.99 at Walmart

The sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, improves on its predecessor in a number of meaningful ways, including adding an entire sky and underground map area to explore in addition to Hyrule.

Tears of the Kingdom adds a slew of new abilities to Link’s arsenal, including Ultrahand, which allows you to pick up just about anything in the world and fuse it together to create structures, vehicles, and much more.

For Nintendo Switch 2 owners, you can upgrade this copy to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for an additional $9.99, or receive it for free if you’re a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriber. The upgraded version includes buttery smooth performance, better visuals, faster load times, and HDR for more realistic lighting throughout Hyrule.

In our review, we called it a 10/10 Masterpiece, stating that “Tears of the Kingdom is an unfathomable follow-up to one of the greatest games ever made, somehow improving upon it in nearly every way…”
