Dungeon Crawler Carl has become quite the name in the LitRPG world. While author Matt Dinniman started out self-publishing the series as e-books and paperbacks, they started getting hardcover releases back in 2024 and have since exploded into a new world of popularity. Now we’ve even got a TV show in the works.

If you’ve been curious about the series or are ready to move on to the next few volumes, now’s a great chance to dive in. Amazon is running a ‘Buy 2 Get 1 Free’ sale on books, movies, and vinyl that happens to include every hardcover book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series.

‘Buy 2, Get 1 Free’ Deal on Dungeon Crawler Carl Books

Seven Dungeon Crawler Carl books have been released so far, and the hardcover versions of all seven are included in Amazon’s ‘3 for 2’ deal. The only volume not included in the sale is A Parade of Horribles, which is up for preorder and set to release on May 12. That will be the first book to be released as an e-book and hardcover at the same time.

The sale works as follows: add three eligible items to your cart, and Amazon will automatically discount the cheapest item to 0. The deal stacks, getting you one free item for every three in your cart, and lets you mix and match across categories.

The full series of books is already discounted, so you’ll get a free item in addition to price cuts across the board. Just keep in mind that the “cheapest item” you get for free will depend on what else is in your cart.

My colleague Jacob Kienlen is a particularly big fan of the series, which he named on his list of the best Lit RPGs to start in 2026. When a similar deal popped up last year, he made his pitch for why Dungeon Crawler Carl is a great entry point for anyone interested in the genre:

“This series is a great starting point for the LitRPG genre because it doesn’t spend too much time throwing a bunch of stat sheets and complicated magic systems in your face. It leads with fast-paced action and some generally fantastic dialogue I think anyone would enjoy. The overarching story and interplay between the galactic audience and the Earth survivors also makes for a really interesting concept that never gets old.”

If you prefer a different format, you can also get the audiobook versions through Audible, which is currently offering a 30-day free trial. Every e-book is also included in a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
