Denny’s Appliance Triples in Size

Marks 50th anniversary with expanded showroom

BrandSource member Denny’s Appliance of Menomonie, Wis., knows how to mark an occasion.

Coinciding with the company’s 50th year of serving western Wisconsin, owners Debbie Rogge and daughter Kayla Dewberry recently acquired a larger space in their current building. Rogge said the move more than tripled the size of their showroom to 7,500 square feet, allowing them to better showcase a wide assortment that includes such luxury badges as Fulgor, iLVE, LG Studio and Liebherr in addition to popular mass-premium brands.

Denny’s was founded in 1975 as Les & Jims TV, and was purchased in 1980 by Dennis Champion, who changed the name to Denny’s. Twenty years later he sold it to the Rogge family, who decided to keep the name.

Now, 26 years after that, Rogge has handed the reins to Kayla.

“We are now moving it to the next generation of our family,” Rogge said. “Our daughter Kayla has taken over the helm for many more years to come.”

Under the Rogges’ watch, Denny’s Appliance adopted a white-glove approach to customer service both before and after the sale, and services all the appliances its sells through the life of the product. As Rogge told YSN five years ago on the occasion of her BrandSource Dealer of the Year award for the Greater Midwest Region, “Our customers don’t just come to Denny’s for appliances; they come for peace of mind.”

The official grand opening of the newly expanded Denny’s was heralded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month, following a sneak peek by the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association. The ribbon-cutting was attended by members of the Menomonie Chamber of Commerce, and visitors vied for giveaways that included a Bosch dishwasher, a 5-cubic-foot chest freezer and a 40-inch TV.
