The new system supports Dante-based 5.1 and stereo audio monitoring applications and will be showcased for the first time at NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, in Booth C6808.
The system is intended for general audio monitoring in post-production, ingest and on-air facilities. The 1U rack-mounted Model 794 is available in four versions that differ by input resources, including Dante audio-over-Ethernet, analog and AES3 digital audio.
All versions integrate with the Model 795 Control Console, a desktop user control surface featuring pushbutton switches, a rotary encoder and a digital display. The system uses 32-bit programmable logic for all digital domain processing and includes a web-based menu for configuration.
“The StudioComm system, built around the Model 794 and companion control consoles, delivers a fully integrated 5.1 and stereo monitoring platform that unifies Dante, analog, and AES3 audio sources,” Gordon Kapes, Studio Technologies president, said.
Output options for the system include Dante digital audio and analog audio with 5.1-channel and stereo capabilities. Features include bass management, downmix and cue mix capability. The units also include three gigabit Ethernet network interfaces, two of which support redundant Dante audio transport.
For locations requiring simpler monitoring, the system also supports the Model 791 Control Console, which focuses on monitoring level control. The system can be powered by standard AC or an external 12 Vdc source for redundancy.
