Bloomingfoods Co-op Market will celebrate Earth Day and Fair Trade Day with a series of promotions, workshops and community events during its 2026 EarthFest, running from Wednesday, April 22, through Saturday, May 9, according to a news release.
The Bloomington-based cooperative said the event is intended to encourage shoppers to make “every day Earth Day” and increase demand for sustainable and ethically sourced products.
As part of EarthFest, Bloomingfoods said it will give away a new bicycle in partnership with Revolution Bike & Bean, along with a Fair Trade gift basket filled with Fair Trade, local and environmentally friendly products.
The co-op also announced a series of promotions tied to the event, including 20% off bulk purchases for shoppers who bring their own reusable containers on Earth Day and April 23, double Bloomingfoods for Earth rewards stamps on Earth Day, and 20% off all Fair Trade products on Fair Trade Day.
Events will begin on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, when Discardia will lead a “Mending Rescues Clothes from the Landfill” demonstration at Bloomingfoods Near West. Local organizations will also offer environmental education activities at both Bloomingfoods stores that day.
On Arbor Day, Saturday, April 25, Bloomingfoods East and Near West will host a native tree giveaway in partnership with Sycamore Land Trust.

On Sunday, May 3, local beekeeper Jeff Becker will lead a beginner beekeeping workshop at Bloomingfoods East. Bloomingfoods said an RSVP is required for that event.
The EarthFest schedule will conclude on Fair Trade Day, Saturday, May 9, with free minor bike repairs from a Revolution Bike & Bean pop-up bike repair shop at Bloomingfoods Near West and a local farm tour at Sungate Farm focused on sustainable farming practices.
