The update centers on a major enhancement to AAF export, which is now fully template-based. This allows users to define and reuse export configurations without requiring engineering support. Templates can be created at the workspace level and applied during export, helping to standardize workflows in high-volume production environments such as reality TV and continuing drama.
Through these templates, users can define clip colors based on metadata, transfer comments and transcripts as native markers into Avid and structure sequences across multiple timelines.
Limecraft 2026.2 also introduces improvements to automatic speech recognition for subtitling and localization. New controls include disfluency filtering, which removes hesitations and repetitions, and enhanced speaker identification through adjustable sensitivity settings for multi-speaker scenarios.
The update also adds AI-assisted post-editing capabilities to help users refine transcripts more efficiently. Other enhancements include more flexible custom status filters, improved access control in workflows and increased robustness in Limecraft Edge during temporary licensing interruptions.
“Limecraft 2026.2 is about putting more control in the hands of users while reducing the operational burden,” Dieter Van Rijsselbergen, Limecraft CTO, said. “By making complex processes like AAF export configurable and repeatable, and by improving the quality of automated transcription, we enable teams to work faster and with greater consistency — especially in high-volume production environments.”
