Disney Reveals Lilo & Stitch 2 and Incredibles 3 Release Dates

During Disney’s annual shareholders meeting, it was announced that Lilo & Stitch 2 will be released in theaters on May 26, 2028, and that it will be followed by Incredibles 3 on June 16 of the same year.

We didn’t learn much more about these films during the meeting, and we already knew they were on their way, but now we have firm dates to look forward to.

Lilo & Stitch 2 was announced in June 2025 following the success of the first live-action remake, which earned over $1.03 billion at the global box office.

In our review of the 2025’s Lilo & Stitch, we said it is “is one of the stronger results of Disney’s non-stop remake campaign, taking the emotional core of the original and amplifying it in a stirring manner.”

As for Incredibles 3, the long-awaited third film in The Incredibles franchise was unveiled at D23 2024, and we have since learned that it may be directed by Elemental’s Peter Sohn rather than Brad Bird, who directed the first two films from 2004 and 2018.

In our review of Incredibles 2, we said, “Brad Bird’s strong script and direction elevate this animated adventure to new heights. Instead of trying to copy or parody the superhero films of the past 14 years, Incredibles 2 embraces what made its first outing so memorable: The Parr family and their willingness to work together in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.”

Josh D’Amaro, Disney’s new CEO who replaced Bob Iger today, March 18, also shared a few words about Toy Story and its legacy while also sharing a clip from the upcoming Toy Story 5.

“Thirty years ago, Pixar changed moviegoing forever with the first CG-animated feature. Today, ‘To infinity and beyond’ is more than a catchphrase — it’s an instant association, no matter where you are in the world,” D’Amaro said. “These characters now live everywhere our audiences do — in homes across the globe through Disney+ and consumer products, in our hotels, in every one of our theme parks and cruise ships.”
