Advanced Systems Group Names Peter Thordarson Technical Account Executive
Advanced Systems Group (ASG), a technology and services provider for media creatives and content owners, announced the appointment of Peter Thordarson to the newly created role of technical account executive. Joining ASG with nearly four decades of expertise, Thordarson brings a deep background in broadcast media engineering, management, and enterprise production. He reports directly to Claudia Souza, ASG chief innovation officer.
Thordarson will act as a “dedicated client advocate and sales-technical expert, guiding clients toward innovative approaches with technology and industry best practices.” His primary responsibility will be to partner with clients, offering his expertise to align their expectations with a forward-thinking technical strategy that achieves both workflow optimization and successful business outcomes.
His expertise stems from high-stakes engineering and operations roles across the M&E and enterprise sectors, including tenures at Microsoft, Fox Network, Fox Sports, DirecTV Sports, and Ericsson (MediaKind). At Microsoft, he architected advanced broadcast workflows for producing and delivering digital-first corporate events.
Souza adds that bringing someone with Thordarson’s engineering background in this role will be a significant benefit to ASG clients: “His 40 years of experience allows him to understand each client’s unique challenges and communicate with them on a level that goes far beyond typical sales roles. He grasps the engineering realities of live production and can give clear guidance on the optimal solutions.”
