Warner man faces DUI charges after crashing stolen car into Hooksett Welcome Center sign
A Warner man was arrested on Saturday after crashing into a highway sign for the Hooksett Welcome Center with a car that had been reported stolen.
At 9:50 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a crash off on the Interstate 93 northbound, where they found Vincente Metrano, 30, stopped between trees off the side of the road, according to State Police.
Metrano, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza, had collided with a highway sign and rolled over in his vehicle before coming to a halt. He got out of the car on his own and was later transported to a regional hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.
Troopers learned during their investigation that the Subaru had been reported stolen in Nashua. Metrano was arrested at the hospital for receiving stolen property and driving under the influence, according to State Police.
Metrano was scheduled to appear in Hooksett District Court on Monday.
