NAB Show: Solid State Logic To Debut Net I/O ST 2110 Bridge

Solid State Logic, a provider of audio consoles and IP-based production tools, is debuting its Net I/O ST 2110 Bridge at NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, in Booth C6907. It’s a high-capacity converter that connects ST 2110 and Dante networks in a single standalone unit.

The bridge works with any broadcast audio console or network. Housed in a 1RU chassis, it supports NMOS IS-04 Discovery and Registration and IS-05 Device Connection Management specifications. It is available in 256- or 512-channel versions, with the 256-channel model offering an upgrade path to 512 channels and a sample rate converter option. Redundancy is standard for both media networks and the power supply.

Berny Carpenter, SSL Broadcast product manager, said: “Broadcast installations are increasingly adopting IP audio for facility workflows and distribution networks. Dante is already well established for audio applications but ST 2110 is rapidly being implemented for wider production, including video and data as well as audio. Both have their respective benefits.”

The bridge can be used for new SSL System T setups or retrofitted into existing systems, including third-party consoles. SSL is also shipping native ST 2110 connectivity for System T, offering up to 2,048 channels of connectivity with support for ST 2110-30 levels A, B and C, ST 2022-7 and NMOS.

Enrique Pérez, Solid State Logic GM, said: “With the broadcast sector steadily becoming dominated by ST 2110 infrastructures, manufacturers like SSL have to provide solutions that give customers the ability to integrate any piece of equipment and any workflow into those environments.”

Pérez added that NMOS capability helps users integrate existing Dante installations with ST 2110 networks.
