BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — March 11, 2026
Members of the Bloomington Fire Department responded to an apartment complex on Longview Avenue on Wednesday, where a live power line burned through a tree that had fallen during severe weather.
Firefighters were seen carrying a ladder and standing by as they waited for the electric company to handle the hazardous line. The scene unfolded on March 11, 2026, after storms moved through Bloomington and left downed limbs and other storm-related hazards across the city.
The burning line and fallen tree created a dangerous situation at the apartment complex, with emergency crews securing the area until utility workers could respond.
These photos were made at the scene as Bloomington firefighters monitored the situation on Longview following the storm.
