Crews handle brush fire in Zion Grove
ZION GROVE – Firefighters from across the Ringtown Valley handled a brush fire in Zion Grove Tuesday afternoon.
Crews from Nuremberg-Weston and Ringtown Valley were called to Ringtown Road and Schreffler Lane in North Union Township just before 1pm.
There, flames consumed about four or five acres of a field, firefighters said.
A second alarm was initially requested, which would have drawn crews from the surrounding area. That call was cancelled shortly after.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
Crews were clear of the scene by 2pm.
Nuremberg-Weston firefighters also remind residents to be mindful and use caution as brush fire season is beginning.
