BRANDONVILLE – A PennDOT plow operator escaped injury when his plow rolled on the side of the Shenandoah Mountain returning to Brandonville on an icy Tuesday morning, state troopers said.

Paul Travis, 54, was operating a 2008 Mack plow for PennDOT when the crash happened around 7:30am Tuesday.

State Police at Frackville said he was entering Brandonville via Route 924, descending the mountain on an icy road.

Troopers said he lost control on the icy road, crossed oncoming lanes, struck an embankment, and spun the plow.

The plow then rolled on its side on the shoulder.

Troopers said Travis was not injured.

Hammer’s Towing recovered the plow.
