
Per NJTransit.com, riders must pick between two nearby alternatives. One sits at North 7th Street on the far side of Bloomfield Avenue. The other waits at North 3rd Street, positioned on the far side as well.
The closed stop goes by MyBus number 18284. North 7th Street carries number 18283. North 3rd Street holds designation 18285.
All four routes will bypass the 1st Avenue spot when changes begin. Passengers who usually board there will have to walk to one of the replacement stops.
How long will construction continue? The transit agency hasn’t said. Officials described it as a long-term project in their announcement, though no end date appeared in the statement.
Customers can stay informed through multiple channels. The agency sends text messages and emails via My Transit Alerts, which users can subscribe to for specific routes or stations. The TRANSIT Mobile App delivers customized push notifications about service changes directly to smartphones.
The Travel Alerts & Advisories page on the website lists current disruptions. Social media posts appear on @NJTRANSIT and line-specific accounts on X.
Translation services exist through Google Translate at the website’s top right corner. Customer Service answers calls from 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. every day at 973-275-5555 for people needing language help or additional details.
Route 11 runs between Newark and Irvington. Route 28 connects Newark and West Orange. Route 29 travels between Newark and East Orange, while Route 72 links Newark and Bloomfield.
