DHD, a provider of digital audio studio equipment for broadcasters and media organizations, is expanding the capabilities of its DX2, RX2, SX2 and TX2 broadcast audio mixers, RM1 portable production unit and XC3/XD3/XS2 processing cores with the introduction of Firmware 10.4. The company will demonstrate the updates at NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22, in Booth C3132.

Firmware 10.4 introduces three new configuration capabilities: Flex Channels, Mic Preamp Control and Channel Categories. Flex Channels allows access to more signals within the system via a pre-assigned input source list. Mic Preamp Control enables the A-Gain value of a microphone input to be set at any time without fader assignment, while Channel Categories allow fader channels to be filtered for specific signals.

The update also includes four API-related features, including a new Control API for DHD AES67 interfaces and a Bitfocus Companion plug-in for the Elgato Stream Deck. DHD is also providing TypeScript and Go libraries for integration into third-party software.

“The April NAB Show is a great opportunity for potential customers from North America, LATAM and Asia Pacific to get their hands directly on DHD products and talk with our representatives,” Christoph Gottert, DHD international sales manager, said. “We also look forward to meeting existing clients and demonstrating the expanded features in our latest firmware.”

DHD will also introduce its Routing Web App, which allows operators to manage incoming sources and output ports locally or remotely via a web server integrated into the DHD processing core. The HTML5-based app expands the range of DHD web apps to six.

The new RM1 Pro is a compact, studio-quality audio production system designed for remote or onsite broadcast contribution, live news, web radio and podcasting. The 1 kg unit includes audio preamps, Bluetooth audio, Dante 4×4 and an AutoMix mode to balance incoming channels automatically. It can be remotely integrated with DHD infrastructure at a host studio, allowing for a customized user interface and loudness-metering functionality.
