Lakeland Chamber Honors Community Leaders at Annual Awards Luncheon

The Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce brought the community together this week for its annual Awards Luncheon, celebrating leadership, service, and excellence across Lakeland. The event recognized individuals and organizations whose dedication continues to shape the city’s character and future.

The prestigious Lifetime Lakeland Legacy Award was presented to Mrs. Joretha Lockhart, principal of Lakeland Elementary School.

Over the past 25 years, Lockhart has guided and inspired generations of students, earning respect for her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and strong leadership. Her influence extends well beyond the school’s classrooms, as many former students have grown into successful professionals and community leaders.

Rachel Jackson of Blooming Blinds of Lakeland was named Ambassador of the Year. Jackson was recognized for her consistent presence at Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, and luncheons, as well as for her servant leadership and dedication to fostering meaningful connections among members.

The Outstanding Community Partner Award was presented to OrthoSouth, with Savanah Nichols acknowledged for her role in strengthening collaboration and service. As a steadfast Chamber supporter, OrthoSouth continues to invest in both healthcare excellence and local partnerships.

Memphis Goodwill was honored as Outstanding Non-Profit of the Year for its transformative workforce development and job training programs that empower individuals and strengthen families throughout the region.

Lakeland Golf Club was named Business of the Year, recognized as a cornerstone gathering place that fosters connection, hospitality, and community pride.

The luncheon featured guest speaker Dr. Ted Horrell, superintendent of Lakeland School System, who presented an overview of the district’s continued progress and commitment to excellence.

The Spotlight Table was hosted by Leaders Credit Union, and the event was catered by Pink Flamingo Catering. Music was sponsored by the Lakeland Arts Council, with live performances by Josh Cosby and Jeremy Stanfill adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
