Liberty Forum in Concord will celebrate the Free State Project

New Hampshire Free Staters will be taking a victory lap in Concord this week at a three-day conference called the New Hampshire Liberty Forum 2026.

The conference will celebrate the success that the Free State Project has had in state politics since the idea was first floated 25 years ago.

Panel titles give a sense of what discussions will be like. “Restoring America’s libertarian anti-ideology” is one. Another asks: “What is the next phase of money?” Spoiler alert — they think it’s cryptocurrency. Then, there’s “Education is the thing that makes everybody lose their minds.”

Among the speakers is Rep. Jason Osborne, who moved to New Hampshire in 2010 as one of thousands lured by the Free State Project’s plan to bring in enough people to reshape the state along libertarian lines. He is now the House majority leader, one of the most powerful politicians in New Hampshire.

General admissions for the gathering at the Grappone Center is $150 and $300 for the VIP package.

The group has held annual conferences since 2007 and become a magnet for national advocates of the libertarian idea of creating a society with little or no government action.

Like many political conferences, the New Hampshire Liberty Forum is designed to preach to the choir, with the goal of giving acolytes ideas on how to spread the word. Most of this year’s corporate sponsors, who pay to have their banners displayed and their names thanked in hopes of gaining indirect business, and who are the backbone of any conference, are already linked to the Free State community.

The conference runs from Thursday, March 5, through Saturday. For details, see nhlibertyforum.com.
