    Another State Fair grandstand act: Tommy James & The Shondells 

Tommy James & The Shondells is the latest grandstand show at the Minnesota State Fair to be announced.

The band, with special guest Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, will headline the fair on Monday, Aug. 31. The concert starts at 7 p.m.

Tommy James & The Shondells have 23 gold singles, including hits like “Crimson & Clover” and “Mony Mony,” and have nine platinum albums. Many hit artists have covered their hits, such as Billy Idol’s take on “Mony Mony” and Tiffany’s cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now.”

Reserved seats tickets are $33 to $43.75 and $43 to $53.75 for the party deck. They go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27.

It’s the fifth grandstand show announced so far.

The other concerts are Bonnie Raitt (Aug. 27), “Weird Al” Yankovic with special guest Puddles Pity Party (Aug. 28), Sierra Ferrell (Aug. 30 – The Current’s Music on-a-stick Show) and Rod Stewart with special guest Richard Marx (Sept. 1).

The Minnesota State Fair runs for 12 days from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7.
