President Donald Trump will deliver his State of the Union Address on Tuesday night, and we are waiting to see what he says about Minnesota.

Several of the guests of lawmakers from Minnesota highlight issues facing Minnesotans and making national headlines in the past year:

Brad Finstad(R-1st Congressional District) is bringing Rochester Police Chief Jim Franklin, who has been working to continue improving policing

Angie Craig(D-2nd Congressional District) is bringing Angel Silva, whose mother was detained by ICE and later self-deported.

Kelly Morrison and Betty McCollum(D- 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts) are bringing Colin Hortman, the son of Melissa and Mark Hortman, and his wife, Alina.

Ilhan Omar(D-5th Congressional District) is bringing Aliya Rahman, Mary Granlund, Mubashir Hussen and Gerardo Orozco Guzman, four Twin Cities residents who have been impacted by the federal immigration surge.

Tom Emmer(R-6th Congressional District) is bringing Blaine Police Chief Brian Podany and Blaine Brothers Board Chairman Dead Dally, who he says are experiencing benefits from the Working Families Tax Cuts.

We haven’t been able to find information on who Michelle Fischbach(R-7th Congressional District) is bringing, but have reached out to her office for more information.

Pete Stauber(R-8th Congressional District) is bringing Nick Shirley and David Hoch, whose YouTube video about fraud in Minnesota’s childcare assistance programs drew national attention.

Senator Amy Klobuchar(D) is bringing Sean Syverson, a Moorhead business owner who has been hit hard by tariffs.

Senator Tina Smith is among several congressional democrats planning to skip the president’s speech. She says she will be speaking at an alternative event with Brenda Lewis, the Superintendent of Fridley Schools. Lewis has criticized the federal immigration crackdown and the impact it’s had on her community.
