A supervisor with Jackson Ambulance Service in southwestern Minnesota is accused of sexually assaulting his subordinate.
Elijah Uriel Camarillo, 28, faces two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. One of the counts notes that force was used and the other count notes that the victim was physically helpless.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said it got a report of the alleged incident on Feb. 4 and gave the case to the Worthington Police Department since it involved an Ambulance Service supervisor. According to the city of Jackson, two ambulance service employees were placed on administrative leave amid the investigation, and one of the employees resigned.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim told investigators that Camarillo was her supervisor at Jackson Ambulance Service.
In June, the woman said Camarillo asked her to come over and said he had an early birthday gift for her. The woman drank wine, became drunk and “could barely walk,” court documents state.
She said that Camarillo trapped her on his bed and sexually assaulted her. The woman added that she felt as though she couldn’t get away because there were two guns on Camarillo’s nightstands that were pointed toward the bed.
According to court documents, Camarillo abruptly quit his job and fled the area. The sheriff’s office said he was arrested in Beloit, Wisconsin, and is awaiting extradition back to Minnesota.
