HWY 178 closed Tuesday to Thursday across Bull Shoals Dam


Highway 178 will be closed across Bull Shoals Dam from Tuesday to Thursday for routine maintenance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The closure will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.Local emergency management and law enforcement officials have coordinated the closure.
Travelers heading north of the dam will need to use a detour, taking Highway 178 through Lakeview, then Highway 5 south through Midway, Highway 126 south through Gassville, and finally Highway 412 west through Flippin to return to Highway 178 in Bull Shoals.




For those traveling south of the dam, the detour will be the reverse route: Highway 178 through Bull Shoals, Highway 412 east through Flippin, Highway 126 north through Gassville, and Highway 5 north through Midway to reach Highway 178.
