According to the probable cause affidavit from the Flippin Police Department, Gowen was observed on security cameras shortly before 4:00 on the morning of Feb. 11 at the Flippin First Baptist Church. He was nude, acting erratically, and attempting to open a locked church door. He then entered an unlocked church van and rummaged through it.
An unlocked utility trailer on the church property had been entered and items from inside it were stolen.
Gowen is facing a felony charge of breaking or entering and a misdemeanor charge of theft of property. He is free after posting $2,500 bond. He is also ordered to have no contact with the First Baptist Church of Flippin or its property.
