For the first time, all charitable proceeds from the annual event were kept within the local community. The funds will benefit SPARKS Gamma House, the MRUK Family Center on Aging and the Ozarks Keystone Trail.

The marathon, held in November, draws 100s of runners from around the region, the country and internationally to run along the White River near Cotter. Runners select from a range of courses that include a full marathon, half marathon and 5K.
Organizers said the donations highlight the marathon’s ongoing commitment to supporting area organizations and strengthening community resources.
