A portion of Interstate 94 near downtown St. Paul will close over the weekend for bridge work.
The closure will be at Highway 61 for westbound traffic and at Highway 52 for eastbound traffic, MnDOT said. It will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday and end at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Westbound traffic will be routed southbound onto Highway 61. To get to St. Paul from the east, drivers will be routed onto southbound Highway 61 and then to Warner/Shepherd Road, before exiting onto White Bear Avenue.
According to MnDOT, during the closure, crews will be installing beams on the Kellogg Boulevard/Third Avenue bridge. The work was postponed twice this winter due to extreme cold and wind.
