Search for driver in deadly hit-and-run in St. Paul
Police say they’re searching for the driver who hit and killed a 65-year-old man in a mobility scooter Wednesday night in St. Paul.
According to St. Paul Police Sgt. Toy Vixayvong, the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Phalen Boulevard and Rose Avenue on the city’s East Side.
Police say the victim was hit while using the crosswalk. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday.
The driver who hit him had left the scene by the time officers arrived.
Vixayvong said investigators are reviewing surveillance footage in the area for leads on the suspect.
