Police said one person was killed early Sunday morning after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the crash occurred on the 3rd Avenue Bridge around 12:53 Sunday morning.
Two vehicles were travelling on the bridge: a northbound GMC Denali with three people and a southbound Ford Taurus with a single driver.
Police said the Taurus crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes and struck the Denali.
The three occupants of the Denali were not injured; police said all three occupantsinidcated they had been wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Taurus was declared dead at the scene.
An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
