The 3D boxing app starts with a very fun tutorial which lets you know all the controls offered during the boxing match itself. From right and left punches to uppercuts and hooks, you can practice each offensive move in the game during the tutorial. You can also check out the function of the ‘dodge’ and ‘block’ functions which can help you defend properly when your opposite number is on the attack. While the offensive moves are dependent on how you slide your finger across the screen, the defensive moves are offered as buttons on the screen that you have to press. The game’s tutorial also informs you how to win a grappling contest and how to avoid a knockout by touching on either side of the screen rapidly. An interesting feature introduced during the tutorial is the ‘Rage Punch’. This is basically an emotional response to the beating you receive and the more hits you get, the more quickly you can throw a raging punch. It introduces a new tactical spanner in the game as you must use the rage punch wisely to knock out your opponent. You must also stay wary of the Rage Punch in 3D boxing if you don’t want to get knocked out. The tutorial kicks things off in the right way by introducing all the in-game controls so that when you start a match, you know exactly what you need to do in order to win a game.
Once the app’s tutorial is ended, you will be asked to make a profile. Once you are done with adjusting the physical appearance of the boxer, you will be taken to the app’s main page. Here, you will see four main tabs at the bottom of the screen. The options are ‘Quick Play’, ‘Career’, ‘Gym’ and ‘Profile’. The quick play option lets you play a match against any of the unlocked boxers within the game and you can decide the number of rounds of the match as well. There can be a maximum of 12 rounds in the game and it would come down to the referee’s score if no boxer can force a knockout. The Career section lets you start your own quest for a belt. The starting step is the Novice’s Championship where you get qualified in a 12-man league and fight with each boxer to accumulate points. There are a total of six championships that you can fight for with each unlocked after you have won the preceding championship. The ‘Gym’ is basically the store from where you can improve your boxer’s skill level as well as the boxer’s attack, defense, speed, stamina and health ratings. Increasing any of the skills requires gold which can be won by winning boxing matches. The ‘Profile’ section is basically where you can customize your boxer and change the hairstyle, the physique, and clothing of the boxer.
The in-game functions in the 3D boxing app are great with statistical analysis of punches a great insight as well. The referee scoring is great as well in case the match can’t be decided by a knockout.
