A restaurant that specializes in crab and other seafood is expanding to Sioux Falls.
Yummy Crab is leasing the former Fazoli’s at 4224 W. Empire Place.
The restaurant’s menu features seafood by the pound or half-pound, including king crab, snow crab legs, Dungeness crab, shrimp, crawfish, clams and mussels. There also are fried seafood options, fried rice sides and appetizers such as crab cakes.
This will be the ninth location for the business, which started in 2019. The next closest location is in Omaha.
“A lot of people come from Sioux Falls to Omaha to eat that,” co-owner Yuqing Chen said. “We were there a month or two earlier and just saw the location and decided to do that over there.”
The menu will be the same as the location in Omaha. Other locations range from Washington state to Florida and as far away as Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Sioux Falls deal “came together very quickly, and it’s a great option because so much of the kitchen equipment is already there,” said Kristen Zueger of Lloyd Cos., who represented Yummy Crab.
The plan is to open sometime this summer, Chen said.
The one remaining Fazoli’s in Sioux Falls is at 5120 E. Arrowhead Parkway. It’s listed for sale through NAI Sioux Falls.
