Tamaqua woman arrested in connection with Tennessee kidnapping

CARLISLE – A Tamaqua woman was arrested late Sunday in connection with a kidnapping of two girls from Tennessee, state troopers in Cumberland County said Monday.

State Police at Carlisle said troopers stopped a 2025 Nissan Rogue on Interstate 81 in South Middleton Township, just outside Carlisle, around 11:51pm Sunday night.

Troopers said the stop was related to two kidnapped girls from Tennessee. Those two girls were safely found in the Nissan.

Ana Rodriguez Gonzalez, 60, of Tamaqua, and Henry Rodriguez, 36, of Allentown, were taken into custody and lodged at the Cumberland County Prison, denied bail, and are awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
