Sheriff Charley Melton said the recent string of vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries and other theft related crimes in the community has been a concern for residents and law enforcement alike.
“I am proud of my staff for their continued dedication and hard work to ensure those responsible are held accountable,” Melton said in a statement.
The sheriff highlighted the work of Investigator Sean Tomlinson, noting he spent extensive time on the cases. Melton said some incidents involved very limited evidence, while others included video footage where suspects’ identities were obscured.
“Often, the public is unaware of the extensive work required to solve cases due to the limited information that can be released in order to protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation,” Melton said.
Anyone with information they believe may be related to a case under investigation is asked to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Office at 870-368-4203 and ask to speak with a deputy. Authorities say even minor details could help move a case forward.
