Xfinity Unveils Tech-Heavy Viewing Experience For Winter Olympics

Comcast’s Xfinity is rolling out a suite of new viewing technologies for NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, including customizable multiview screens, low-latency 4K broadcasts and AI-generated highlights.

The features, which include “Fan View,” “Multiview” and “RealTime4K,” represent the latest push by the cable giant to leverage its Entertainment OS platform and network infrastructure to differentiate its live sports offering.

“The Olympic Games capture the attention of the nation like no other sporting event, making them a perfect stage to showcase what Xfinity does best when it comes to live sports,” said Vito Forlenza, VP, sports entertainment, connectivity and platforms at Comcast.

The “Fan View” feature acts as an on-screen companion across NBC, USA Network, CNBC, and Peacock. It allows viewers to select favorite sports to create a customized dashboard, providing live medal counts, competition stats, and daily schedules in a single interface. The feature also includes 3D “flyover tours” of Milan-based venues, such as ski slopes and bobsled tracks.

Building on the industry trend of simultaneous game viewing, Xfinity’s “Multiview” will allow users to watch up to four channels of NBCUniversal’s coverage at once. A new “Create Your Own Multiview” option allows fans to choose specific channels, mixing Olympic coverage with other live sports or news.

Comcast is also debuting “RealTime4K” technology on USA Network. The company claims the feed is delivered only seconds behind the live action in Italy, utilizing Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

In a strategic programming move, Xfinity will launch a dedicated Peacock 4K channel on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 8). The channel will serve as a bridge between the Milan Olympics and the Super Bowl, carrying live Olympic coverage in the morning before transitioning to pregame, halftime, and postgame shows for the NFL championship.

For viewers catching up on recorded content, Comcast is introducing AI-powered highlights for DVR recordings of NBC’s daytime and primetime coverage. The system automatically tags key moments, such as medal ceremonies and interviews, allowing viewers to skip directly to specific events.

The company’s “Highlights Zone” will also offer curated video playlists for all 16 Olympic sports, tailored to the specific interests users set in their profiles.

The enhancements are powered by Comcast’s Entertainment OS, the global platform that manages the company’s live TV and streaming integration. Xfinity said the features will be available across X1 and the Xfinity Stream app, supported by its multi-gigabit fiber-to-the-home network.
