80-year-old driver killed after losing control in Hubbard County crash

The Minnesota State Patrol said an 80-year-old woman was killed Tuesday after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed head-on into another car.

According to the crash report, a Buick LeSabre driven by Nancy Irene Bamlet was traveling east on Highway 34 in wet conditions just after noon.

As the vehicle was nearing Evening Drive, Bamlet reprotedly lost control of the Buick, crossed the center line, and collided head-on with a Chevy Colorado.

Bamlet was declared dead as a result of the crash. The driver of the Chevy Colorado, an 85-year-old man from Park Rapids, sustained non-life threatneing injuries and was taken to a hospital in Fargo for treatment.
