Chick N Max closes at Lake Lorraine
Chicken restaurant chain Chick N Max is ending its franchise model, prompting the closure of the Sioux Falls restaurant at Lake Lorraine.
The location at 2201 S. Lorraine Place opened in 2023.
The local owners “ultimately became the last remaining franchisee after the franchisor folded, and without the economies of scale and brand infrastructure that made the model work, it no longer made sense to continue,” said Adam Duerre, co-franchisee. “Rather than reinvent the concept as an independent restaurant, we decided to move on.”
Sunday was the last day in business.
The building is listed for sale with Alex Soundy of Bender Commercial Real Estate Services.
It includes a double-lane drive-thru, a dining area with seating, a full commercial kitchen with a hood, a walk-in cooler and a walk-in freezer.
“It’s a beautiful building and presents a great opportunity for an independent operator or a strong franchised brand,” Duerre said.
Chick N Max has one remaining corporate location in Wichita, Kansas.
