The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association announced that it has called for a meeting with President Trump to discuss public safety in the state amid ICE operations.
“MCPA recognizes that communities across our state are experiencing heightened stress and uncertainty, placing significant demands on our communities and the public safety agencies that serve them. Law enforcement professionals are being asked to operate in complex, high-pressure environments while communities seek reassurance, clarity, and stability,” MCPA said.
The association said it would like to discuss these issues and share the perspective of local law enforcement, adding that officers are “facing growing challenges” in “protecting life, enforcing the law, and serving communities in accordance with constitutional principles.”
MCPA said it encourages more dialogue between federal and state leaders.
