The following communities have declared parking bans during the storm expected for Sunday and Monday:
Parking will be prohibited from 11:59 p.m. on Sunday to 7 a.m. on Monday on all town streets and in all parking lots, with three exceptions. During a declared parking ban, the following lots will remain available for overnight parking: The lower level of the parking garage; the town portion of the Pray Street Lot; Northern row of the town N Pleasant St Lot (row closest to church only).
Otherwise, vehicles will be ticketed and towed nightly, at the owner’s expense. Regular enforcement hours for these lots begin at 8 a.m. Any vehicles left parked in these designated parking areas are responsible to pay for parking. View a map of Amherst center parking.
While allowable during the daytime hours, the town encourages drivers to minimize on-street parking and parking in downtown lots to assist the crews in clearing the roads.
A parking ban began at 8 a.m. Saturday and will remain in effect until Monday at 6 p.m. There is no parking at any time on public ways if it interferes with snow removal during a snowstorm.
Vehicles in violation may be towed at the owner’s expense. Residents must remove obstacles from the right-of-way, such as basketball hoops and trash barrels, that interfere with plowing operations.

A parking ban begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday and remains in place until noon on Tuesday. No on-street parking allowed.
The town has a seasonal ban in effect with no on-street parking during winter months. The town encourages people to stay off roads on Sunday until the storm has ended.
An on-street, citywide parking ban will begin Sunday at 1 p.m., and will remain in effect until further notice. The E.J. Gare Parking Garage and parking lots at Armory Street and Hampton Avenue are open and free for parking, also starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday until further notice.
A townwide parking ban in place starting Sunday at 12 p.m. until Tuesday at noon. Park on the even numbered side of the street on even days; park on the odd numbered side of the street on odd days.
