Mrs. T’s executive now chairman of SCIDA board
POTTSVILLE – An executive for a Shenandoah company is now the chairman of the Schuylkill County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors.
The board met Jan. 21 to conduct business and release an annual report.
Also at the meeting, Jack Reilly, Chief Financial Officer for Shenandoah-based Ateeco, Inc., makers of Mrs. T’s Pierogies, received the gavel as chairman from current board treasurer David Snyder.
According to the annual report, SCIDA maintains a loan portfolio composed of projects totaling more than $200 million in financing for local businesses. Overall, SCIDA has taken part in tasks that have created or retained more than 3,500 jobs in Schuylkill County, the authority said in a release
SCIDA works closely with the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) and other local organizations to develop business parks and industrial sites they say enhance the appeal of Schuylkill County for investors.
In October, the SCIDA Board, at the request of the county commissioners, approved submission of a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant application of $1.5 million to help cover a portion of the cost of a new Emergency Management Complex at the Schuylkill County Fire School facility in West Mahanoy Township. That application is pending.
