Winter Storm Watch issued ahead of weekend snowstorm

SHENANDOAH – Our area is under a Winter Storm Watch as walloping winter weather is expected over the weekend.

The National Weather Service at State College issued the watch for Saturday evening through Monday afternoon for Schuylkill, Columbia, and Northumberland counties. The National Weather Service at Binghamton issued an equivalent watch for Luzerne County.

According to State College, heavy snow with significant accumulations are possible with the storm.

Many forecasters have hesitated to predict snow totals as the storm is still days away, though a foot or more may be possible.
