A 27-year-old man is dead after being shot early Tuesday morning in Alexandria, according to police.
The Alexandria Police Department said it responded to the shooting on the 1700 block of Sixth Avenue East around 1:16 a.m. The man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest inside the home. Despite first aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Though the circumstances of the shooting haven’t been released, police say there’s no risk to the public.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.
